Check out #2 on this form... ANSI B30.5 is for mobile cranes... not tower cranes. Also.. 1968? The most recent standard was released in 2007.	Here is your typical "1 page inspection form." Most of the time the installers or rental company will hand you something like this and claim that the crane is safe to operate. Unfortunately most installers and rental companies have never read the ASME standards that govern their "inspection" and operation of their equipment. That is why you NEED to have someone that is familiar with the standards, an independent 3rd party, do you inspections. If not, you may find yourself in the same place THIS COMPANY DID. Fortunately the Company brought us in BEFORE the crane was put to work and was able to correct the issues before any one was potentially injured.
